{"id":770,"date":"2010-11-23T02:54:57","date_gmt":"2010-11-23T02:54:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.armagard.co.uk\/news\/?p=770"},"modified":"2014-01-21T17:29:03","modified_gmt":"2014-01-21T17:29:03","slug":"digital-signage-news-uk-11-17-2010","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.armagard.co.uk\/news\/digital-signage-news-uk-11-17-2010\/","title":{"rendered":"Digital Signage News UK 11.17.2010"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Ocean Erect Giant Digital Billboard at Birmingham\u2019s Bullring<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Big screen advertising company Ocean have won a contract with Birmingham\u2019s iconic Bullring shopping centre to install for the city\u2019s first full-motion <a href=\"https:\/\/www.armagard.co.uk\/outdoor-digital-signage\/outdoor-digital-signage.html\">outdoor digital screen<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The screen has been deployed near the famous shopping centre, home to the city\u2019s Selfridges department store, in conjunction with insurance group Scottish Widows.<\/p>\n<p>The UK\u2019s second city was selected by Ocean who struggled to find a location that met with their selective criteria. Chief Executive, Tim Bleakley said: \u201cAll Ocean sites have a unique natural pull and the City Centre House Screen is very much in the Ocean family of sites. We are delighted to be working with Scottish Widows Investment Partnership to develop and grow digital out of home advertising opportunities in Birmingham.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Glasgow Subway Platforms with Unique Digital Advertising and News Displays<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Station platforms along Glasgow\u2019s subway system have been targeted with a range of digital displays that combine both advertising and news content \u2013 provided by Scottish TV (STV).<\/p>\n<p>Powered by Remote Media\u2019s Signagelive digital signage software platform the displays are operated by advertisers Primesight who have a unique partnership with Scottish TV to run STV news segments.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re delighted to be able to engage with subway travellers using our comprehensive news content,\u201d said David Connolly, senior advisor to STV was reported as saying. \u201cWith around 15 million passenger journeys a year, this innovative partnership creates a unique opportunity for STV to connect with an existing and new audience in a brand new environment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The displays are positioned in the public concourse, entry areas and platforms, with five sites currently targeted but more expected next year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Market Survey Shows Display Mounts and Brackets a Thriving UK Industry<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Mounts and brackets in the UK is a \u00a320m business with over 250,000 units sold each year according to recent market surveys.<\/p>\n<p>Software and technology experts InfoComm\u2019s figures suggest that the entire world mounting and bracketing \u00a0market could growing at seven per cent a year with the Europe market now worth\u00a0 $231m, with the UK expenditure on mounts is running at around \u00a321m a year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ocean Erect Giant Digital Billboard at Birmingham\u2019s Bullring Big screen advertising company Ocean have won a contract with Birmingham\u2019s iconic Bullring shopping centre to install for the city\u2019s first full-motion outdoor digital screen.
