Engineers too dirty for clean room Britannia Refined Metals protects PC from corrosive environment

When Britannia Refined Metals installed a SCADA system in the Lead Acid Battery Recycling Plant at its Gravesend plant, site engineers could check the status of separation processes at a glance. However, because conditions in the plant are so dusty and corrosive, the system was located in a state-of-the-art clean room and staff found that they couldn't enter the room without first removing their contaminated protective clothing. This became so inconvenient that staff stopped using the system. To solve the problem, Britannia located part of the system inside an Armagard Compact All-In-One PC Enclosure in a semi-clean area outside the clean room. The mild steel enclosure provides a secure, dust-free, dry and ventilated environment for the PC ensuring the integrity of the system is maintained. Without the Armagard the PC would not have survived conditions outside the clean room.
